June 2022
Alsip, IL (June 24, 2022) — Daubert Cromwell today announced it has earned the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Certified Biobased Product label on three packaging papers designed to protect silver, copper and aluminum. All three anti-corrosion, anti-tarnish papers are now able to display a unique USDA label that highlights its percentage of biobased content. This distinction helps industrial and government customers choose VCI packaging that is manufactured to environmentally responsible standards.
The following Daubert Cromwell products have earned the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label:
• Silver Saver® with 97% biobased content.
• Coppertex® with 96% biobased content.
• Alumitex® with 100% biobased content.
Third-party verification for a product's biobased content is administered through the USDA BioPreferred Program, an initiative created in 2002 to increase the development, purchase and use of biobased products. The label displays a product's biobased content, which is the portion of a product that comes from a renewable source, such as plant, animal, marine, or forestry feedstocks. Utilizing renewable, biobased materials displaces the need for non- renewable petroleum-based chemicals.
Biobased products are proven to be cost-comparative, readily available, and perform as well as or better than their conventional counterparts.
"Daubert Cromwell is proud to be a leader in sustainable packaging and we are honored to receive this recognition,” said President and CEO Martin Simpson. “Customers can purchase our BioPreferred products knowing they are receiving quality, high-performance packaging that was manufactured to minimize impact to the environment.”
"We applaud Daubert Cromwell for earning this distinction,” added Vernell Thompson, USDA BioPreferred Program. "Products from Daubert Cromwell are contributing to an ever-expanding marketplace that adds value to renewable agriculture commodities, creates jobs, and decreases our reliance on petroleum."
