Protek Wrap® and Nox-Rust® Vapor Wrapper® VCI Papers Earn USDA BioPreferred Certification

Alsip, IL (July 15, 2022) — Daubert Cromwell announces that five more anti-corrosion packaging products have earned the U.S. Department of Agriculture Certified Biobased Product label. Each VCI paper, designed to prevent corrosion on steel, cast iron and other ferrous metal parts, can now display a unique USDA label that highlights its percentage of biobased content. This distinction helps industrial and government customers choose VCI packaging that is manufactured to environmentally responsible standards.

The following Daubert Cromwell VCI papers have earned the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label:

•Protek Wrap® PW30, PW32 and PW60 VCI papers, 92% biobased content.

• Nox-Rust® Vapor-Wrapper® VW35D and VW60D papers, 93% bio-based content.

Each paper works to protect metal parts and equipment during all stages of manufacture, storage and shipment.
They are part of the company’s Sustainability Series of globally compliant, recyclable, effective VCI packaging.

Biobased content is administered through the USDA BioPreferred Program, an initiative created in 2002 to increase the development, purchase and use of biobased products. The label displays the portion of a product that comes from a renewable source, such as plant, animal, marine, or forestry feedstocks. Utilizing renewable, biobased materials displaces the need for non-renewable petroleum-based chemicals.

"Daubert Cromwell is proud to be a leader in sustainable packaging and we are honored to receive this recognition,” said President and CEO Martin Simpson. “Customers can purchase our BioPreferred products knowing they are receiving quality, high-performance packaging that was manufactured to minimize impact to the environment.”

"We applaud Daubert Cromwell for earning this distinction,” added Vernell Thompson, USDA BioPreferred Program. "Products from Daubert Cromwell are contributing to an ever-expanding marketplace that adds value to renewable agriculture commodities, creates jobs, and decreases our reliance on petroleum."
